(According to the Qur’an and Hadith)
1. Creation of the Universe and the Earth
Islam teaches that Allah created the entire universe with wisdom and purpose.
- The Qur’an says that the heavens and the Earth were once joined and then separated:
“Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the Earth were a joined entity, and We separated them?”
(Qur’an 21:30)
- Allah created everything in stages and in perfect order:
“He created the heavens and the Earth in six days.”
(Qur’an 7:54)
This indicates a gradual and planned creation, not chaos.
2. Creation of the First Human: Adam (AS)
Human society began with Prophet Adam (AS).
-
Allah created Adam from clay:
“Indeed, I will create a human being from clay.”
(Qur’an 38:71) -
Adam was honored with knowledge:
“And He taught Adam the names of all things.”
(Qur’an 2:31)
This shows that knowledge and intellect were the foundation of human civilization.
3. Early Human Society: Faith and Family
- Adam (AS) and Hawwa (Eve) were sent to Earth to live as the first family.
Early human society was simple, based on:
- Faith in Allah
- Family bonds
- Moral values
- Basic survival skills
Islam teaches that human beings were born upon pure faith (fitrah):
“Every child is born upon fitrah (natural belief in Allah).”
(Hadith – Sahih Bukhari)
4. Deviation and the Need for Prophets
Over time, humans forgot divine guidance and began to deviate.
- To guide humanity, Allah sent prophets to every nation:
“And for every nation is a messenger.”
(Qur’an 10:47)
- Prophets such as:
- Nuh (AS) – against corruption and injustice
- Ibrahim (AS) – against idol worship
- Musa (AS) – law and justice
- Isa (AS) – spirituality and compassion
Each prophet addressed the social problems of their time.
5. Growth of Civilization and Moral Testing
As human society advanced:
- Cities were built
- Trade expanded
- Technology and tools developed
However, the Qur’an warns:
“Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of people have earned.”
(Qur’an 30:41)
This shows that moral decline often followed material progress.
6. The Final Guidance: Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
Human societal evolution reached its final divine stage with Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
He was sent as a mercy to all mankind:
“We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.”
(Qur’an 21:107)
Islam introduced:
- Human equality
- Social justice
- Rights of women
- Abolition of racism
- Balance between faith and worldly life
-
The Qur’an was revealed as complete and preserved guidance:
“Today I have perfected for you your religion.”
(Qur’an 5:3)
7. Human Society in the Present Age
Today’s world shows:
- Scientific and technological advancement
- Global communication
- Yet increasing:
- Moral confusion
- Injustice
- Materialism
Islam views this as a test for humanity.
“Indeed, We created man in hardship.”
(Qur’an 90:4)
True success lies in balancing knowledge, morality, and faith.
8. Islamic View of the Future of Human Society
Islam teaches that:
- Humanity will continue until the Day of Judgment
- Signs of moral decline will appear
- Justice will ultimately be restored by Allah
“And the final outcome belongs to the righteous.”
(Qur’an 7:128)
Conclusion
According to Islam:
- Human society began with knowledge and faith
- It evolved through divine guidance via prophets
- Material progress without morality leads to decline
- The Qur’an provides a timeless framework for a just society
Islam sees human evolution not as random but as a moral and spiritual journey under Allah’s guidance.
